Captivating audiences over the course of a 20-year, 14-album career, the Puerto Rican-based ensemble of virtuoso musicians known as Plena Libre has only gotten better with age, as evidenced by their four recent Grammy nominations and worldwide touring schedule. When Plena Libre, led by musician Gary Núñez, plays its contemporary compositions, deeply rooted in the indigenous musical traditions known as plena and bomba that developed in the islands more than 100 years ago, it's hard to sit still. The Boston Herald calls their sound "A mad weave of polyrhythms that simply sizzle."

Tonight, Oct. 4, the Millersville University Cultural Affairs Committee and SOLA Student Organization will present Plena Libre in a performance at the Winter Center for the Performing Arts, located on the Millersville campus. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Clair Performance Hall.

Super saver advance tickets at $5 are available to Millersville University students at the Ticket Office at Millersville University (located in the Student Memorial Center). MU Students with I.D. may also purchase tickets at the door for $7. General admission is $10, $7 for seniors.
