NYC-based rock/pop singer and songwriter, Samia, released her new song and video "We Have the Right", a moving anthem for marriage equality. She herself is pansexual and an outspoken supporter of LGBT rights, and Samia's amazing voice and spirit shine though in this truly inspiring track. With influences such as Janis Joplin, Alanis Morissette and Tina Turner, Samia delivers the full package with her powerful and sultry vocals, charisma and bold sexuality that has already generated quite a stir within the LGBTQ community. Samia and her band first shined their way into the spotlight in the Fall of 2012, debuting at the famous Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Since then, Samia and her four talented players have appeared at other New York City hotspot venues including The Greenpoint Gallery, The Bitter End and Tammany Hall. Earlier this year, Samia appeared to a packed house at Arlene's Grocery in celebration of releasing their single "Lose Me".
Often described as a "female Steven Tyler", Samia is quickly becoming known for her larger-than-life vocal prowess and raw, passionate performances, drawing strong comparisons to Tina Turner, Katy Perry, and Freddie Mercury. On the album, Samia is joined by a stellar group of musicians: Matt Zebroski (drums), Lucas Shine (guitar), Bryan WeScott Smith (guitar & keys), and Jake Leschinsky (bass).
