Last night, Feb. 8, singer David Pomeranz played the Slyvia & Danny Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College in New York City. Pomeranz's songs and recordings have sold over 40 million copies worldwide, earning him a total of 18 Gold and 22 Platinum records. BWW was on the scene last night. Hailed by Billboard magazine as "...one of our finer voices," David has recorded nine solo albums including "It's In Every One Of Us" (Arista), "The Truth Of Us" (Pacific/Atlantic) - co-produced with Paul Simon Producer, Roy Halee), "Time To Fly" (Decca) - featuring Jazz greats, Chick Corea, Billy Cobham, and Jan Hammer, "On This Day" (MCA Universal) and "Born For You - His Best And More" (MCA Universal), which has sold over 500,000 copies in the Philippines alone, making it the largest-selling international pop album in the history of that country. His latest CD release, "You're The Inspiration" (MediaNation), containing David's versions of some of the most beloved pop songs of all time, was released in February of 2013.
In 1975, Barry Manilow asked to record David's "Tryin' To Get The Feeling Again" (originally penned for The Carpenters) and Barry's version became David's first number one hit. In 1980, Barry struck gold again with his version of "The Old Songs" (co-written by David and songwriting legend Buddy Kaye). which swiftly became David's second chart-topping single.
