Hailed as one of Ireland's premier tenors, Paul Byrom is coming to the SubCulture: Arts Underground on Thursday May 1, 2014 at 7:30PM one year after recording his first solo TV special for PBS, "THIS IS THE MOMENT LIVE" at the venerable theatre.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door and can be purchased through www.subcuturenewyork.com. SubCulture is located at 45 Bleecker Street, Downstairs, New York, NY 10012.

Paul Byrom became a professional singer at the age of 12 when cast in his first opera with the National Concert Orchestra of Ireland and recorded his first album "The Golden Voice" as a boy soprano at 14. His second release, entitled VELVET, was in 2005 and reached #2 in the Irish music charts. His talent as a tenor has taken him far and wide, and some of the many highlights of his career to date include performing for many dignitaries such as Irish President Mary McAleese, Emperor Akihito of Japan, and most recently for the President of the United States.

In 2007 Paul became one of the original soloists in the show Celtic Thunder. Fans of Byrom quickly nicknamed him "The Swanky Tenor" for his suave and romantic style in performing, which is stamped on such numbers as "Remember Me, Recuerde Me" and "She".

Having left the production of Celtic Thunder to pursue a solo career, his album "THIS IS THE MOMENT" debuted at No.1 on the World Billboard Charts. This was followed by his first solo tour of North America, highlighted by a stop at the State Theatre for his PBS special and DVD recording in March of 2013. Byrom was named Irish Tenor of the Year by the Irish Music Association in 2012.
