THE LIVE AT MASSEY HALL SERIES: Each night there is electricity in the air. Each night, it is more than obvious this isn't just another stop on the artist's tour itinerary: this is a career-defining moment, one in which audiences feel just as invested as the performers. This series is devoted to Canadian artists. Each concert is filmed and recorded, showcasing amazing performances and the audience experience at the historic Massey Hall. It's almost as good as being there-almost.
Tickets for the Live at Massey Hall series start at the symbolic price of $18.94, a nod to the year the venue opened.
The critically-acclaimed concert and concert film series, Live at Massey Hall, connects viewers with Canada's most influential and captivating music-makers, performers, and artists through signature cinematic 30-minute concert films and high quality full-length audio recordings. The series also introduces new voices and original artists to not only Massey Hall's wide and growing audience base but to music fans around the world, documenting what is often considered a milestone moment in the careers of participating artists.
MASSEY HALL: Exciting times ahead for Massey Hall as it inches closer to Canadian icon, Gordon Lightfoot's three closing shows on June 29 (sold out), 30 (sold out) & July 1 (limited seats available). Lightfoot, a Massey Hall legend will appropriately be the last artist to perform at the National Historic Site before the Massey Hall Revitalization Project temporarily closes the hall through Fall 2020.
The Revitalization Project will see the restoration of the existing structure and the construction of a new building, connected to the south of the hall. This expanded footprint will allow for improved artist and patron amenities, enhanced facilities for community outreach & education initiatives, as well as artist development programs including a much needed 500 capacity performance venue. All of this to ensure that Canadians continue to be enriched through arts, employment, and cultural celebration for generations to come.
