Austin based- Palo Duro releases newest single "True Fade," a synth and bass heavy tune inspired by Suicide, off their forthcoming LP Ryou Cannon out September 29, on 30th Century Records (Danger Mouse). The bright pulsating sounds of "True Fade" paired with Michael Winningham's smooth vocals is truly a treat that both Sam Cohen and Winningham have stirred up and will leave the listener in harmonious bliss.

Winningham talks about the very early stages of "True Fade" back to when he and Cohen first recorded the song.

"True Fade was one of the first songs Sam Cohen and I wrote and recorded for this record. Most of the sessions took place in a crazy studio near Wimberley, about one hour outside of Austin. They had a nice piano though and the owner used to play with Peter Rowan. We slept in a converted chapel and played intense games of tetherball after our sessions. They even had weddings out there sometimes...

I think "True Fade" has a kind of Suicide-esque pulse. The looping guitar played by a mallet and the vocal accents were ideas that began a certain willingness to let these songs go anywhere. Sam and I had a high tolerance to just let ideas emerge and try them. Dan Molad (of Lucius) mixed this song and added to the essence. Very happy to release it into the world."

Previously known for fronting the band Gold Beach, Palo Duro's Michael J. Winningham has created a pulsating, technicolor universe with Palo Duro. A project that began in July 2012, Michael reached out to his childhood friend, producer Sam Cohen (Kevin Morby, Benjamin Booker) to continue work on a new Gold Beach record. At 16 years old, Sam helped Michael arrange his first song at a house party in Houston TX. Fast forward many years later and this creative synergy proved to be strong-Instantly, in the studio, exciting and bold ideas emerged. Collaboration and endless possibilities informed the arrangements between Sam, Michael, and keyboardist Carlos Orozco, and a new spirit was born. This was no longer Gold Beach.

After two years, multiple cities, a rotation of musicians and 23 songs later the music was introduced in the summer of 2016 to 30th Century Records founderDanger Mouse, and plans began to release the music.
