Russian producer PROXY makes his long-awaited return with the release of his debut album MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES PART 1, out today, November 6 via Dim Mak Records. A shocking display of hardcore sonic violence, MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES PART 1 is the first installment of a two-part series from the world-renowned artist, with the second chapter scheduled for release in early 2013.

Beloved by top DJs and stadium crowds the world over, PROXY has created a work that harnesses the spirit of pure rave culture, with over 20 combined tracks that span and elevate countless genres—notably inflected by classic bass and drum ‘n’ bass culture—without regard for trends or ephemeral influences. Released in two parts, the MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES series showcases the prolific underground rave-czar's wide-spanning body of work.

MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES PART 1 opens the audio siege with flag-bearing marches (“Raja Ganja”), imperial air-raid bangers (“Raw”) and unhinged breakbeat madness (“Junk”). MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES PART 1 is the product of an artist who forged a sound in complete isolation, with visa problems leading him to entrench himself in the remoteness of his native Russia, continuing in the U.K. rave tradition of his Essex-spawned idols, The Prodigy. Years in the making, the album features a massive stockpile of new material, as well as PROXY classics both renowned (“Raven”) and unreleased (“Abyss”).

Prior to the release of MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES PART 1, Dim Mak unleashed the album track “Shut Up!” Out October 16, “Shut Up!” is packed with a brutal hip-hop vocal decrying mainstream pop laid out over the bluntest of beats, armed with weapons-grade bass and PROXY’s trademark, dread-inspiring atmospherics. The track will be accompanied with remixes from Dim Mak label mates GTRONIC and VCO. Belgian titan GTRONIC lends his heavy bass trash sound for a grinding rendition of “Shut Up!” crammed with low-end intensity. Los Angeles-based duo VCO rework “Shut Up!” into a techno-house frenzy. Closing out the release, rising Canadian star John Roman uncovers the pitch-black soul of “Shut Up!” and lets it unfold over six minutes of malevolent techno, while Belgian house duo Sound of Stereo unleash an equally dark and fully loaded house remake.
