This November, the VOODOO MUSIC + ARTS EXPERIENCE will celebrate its 15th anniversary November 1, 2 and 3 with a line-up led by headliners Pearl Jam and Nine Inch Nails.
For Pearl Jam, this will be the band's VOODOO debut and their first show in the city since 2010. This performance will mark Nine Inch Nails' fourth appearance at VOODOO. NIN's Trent Reznor, a former New Orleans resident who was given the keys to the city when NIN played a free, post-Katrina Voodoo in 2005, is re-launching Nine Inch Nails since going on hiatus in 2009.
"Recently I haven't spent nearly enough time in my favorite city in the world and I'm happy to announce I'm bringing Nine Inch Nails to New Orleans for Voodoo," says Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails.
"New Orleans is one of the most musically and culturally rich cities in the world," says Pearl Jam's Mike McCready. "We've played some of our most memorable shows there and can't wait to return this November. I am personally looking forward to seeing my friends Steve and Michel Gleason. I'm also stoked to see my friend Steve Rehage, eat some gumbo and maybe go get a tattoo at Electric Ladyland or shop for records at Peaches!"
Here are the first 15 VOODOO 2013 acts: Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Calvin Harris, Bassnectar, Paramore, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Afrojack, Boys Noize, The Gaslight Anthem, Big Gigantic, How To Destroy Angels, Cults, Alkaline Trio,
Desaparecidos and Robert DeLong. VOODOO's annual line-up features top-tier and innovative artists from a variety of musical genres which reflects the multitude of cultures that define this historic and beloved American city. Once again, concert-goers will worship the music at VOODOO's six unique performance areas, each of which is enhanced by the use of interactive art.
"Each year Voodoo is an independent roll of the dice--with its own challenges...and memories," says Stephen Rehage, the founder/producer of VOODOO. "The few times I allow myself to reflect on what Voodoo has accomplished in 15 years, I realize that I'm incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to do what I love with a team of incredibly talented people who work every year to create the experience. And we're just getting warmed up for Halloween weekend in New Orleans." headline 15th Anniversary Celebration
