Ottawa-based singer-songwriter Lola Spriggs continues on a high note with her latest infectious pop tune "Lola La Lo" scoring a Hollywood Music in Media (HMMA) nomination for Best Pop Song.

The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the globe. This year's event takes place in Hollywood, Calif. on November 15, 2012.

Spriggs picked up an HMMA nomination last month in the Best Adult Contemporary/AAA category for her chart-topping single "Your One and Only," which broke into the Top 20 on the USA FMQB Adult Contemporary chart earlier this year.

Both tracks are from her latest album Shine, released last December. Produced by Spriggs' longtime collaborator Marcus Kane (Snow, Joey Boy, Glenn Lewis), the EP showcases a lighter, high-spirited side of her artistry while tapping into a diverse array of influences. While "Your One and Only" is infectious dreamy pop fare, the collection also includes subtle country vibes to the dance floor dynamite of "Lola La Lo."

"Lola La Lo" marks Spriggs' fourth HMMA nomination overall, and second time double nominee. In 2010, she received nods for Best Pop Song ("I Wanna Love You") and Best Adult Contemporary/AAA Song ("Nobody But You").

"I Wanna Love You" received prominent mention in Peter Simpson's The Big Beat List: 10 Local Songs From 2010, which was published in the Ottawa Citizen. Simpson praised the track's effervescence and wrote that it could make the "Ottawa area single mom a pop star." "Nobody But You" also placed in the Top 100 on FMQB's AC 2010 and 2011 Year End Charts, just ahead of superstars Uncle Kracker/Kid Rock, Michael Buble and Miley Cyrus.

Those who have been following Spriggs' career since the release of her 2004 debut EP Expressed can detect the unique evolution in musical styles as Spriggs' has explored the many genres that intrigue her.

The Canadian songstress is also spotlighted in the fall issue of Healthwise Ottawa Magazine, where she discusses balancing her demanding life as a business consultant and a singer. Visit http://www.healthwiseottawa.com to read the story (on page 32 of the digital version).
