No Name Presents: The Uptown Cabaret is an opportunity to play; to enjoy your music; your art; an opportunity to share this joy with your fellow singers, composers and lyricists. Bring that new audition song! Bring that song that you'd never get to sing otherwise! Bring that new material for your BMI class and test it out in a safe and fun place!
"Tryyyyyy to remember, the kind of September, when life was slow and oh so mellow..." Do we have those kinds of Septembers in New York? Certainly not in theatre with shows opening, festivals happening and people getting back into the swing after their summer gigs. Need some help sliding back into the "default world" (as Burning Man folks call it)? Then come on UP! with the new music you've learned or written, or need to learn for the fall and winter auditions!
Come on UP and play with us in Upstate Manhattan! You know you want to. We are continuing the series with "Alex learns a pop song!" and we hope to bring back the Featured Composer Series from the Big Night Out Days, so composers and lyricists, come on up and show us your stuff! (Locals Donna Stearns, music director Rich Campell and Jonathan Larsen Award winner Josh Cohen have done it, so can YOU!)So come join us for the Uptown Cabaret Thursday, September 22nd and continuing on the third Thursday of every month (I know that this is the FOURTH Thursday this month, but we've got FIVE Thursdays this month...and I'm seeing Porgy and Bess up in MA on the 15th, thanks mom for the ticket!). Come bring out your new fall ensembles - fashion and musical - and hopefully the rain will have stopped by then.
Alexandra de Suze is your hostess with the mostess and Rich Campbell will be fiercely on piano.
Sign-up starts at 6:45 and the show starts at 7pm so grab your book and come on UP to the Uptown Cabaret!
