No Name Presents: The Uptown Cabaret is an opportunity to play; to enjoy your music; your art; an opportunity to share this joy with your fellow singers, composers and lyricists. Bring that new audition song! Bring that song that you'd never get to sing otherwise! Bring that new material for your BMI class and test it out in a safe and fun place!

 

Last year on January 20th, No Name Presents: The Uptown Cabaret debuted at the Indian Road Cafe, and we are still going strong! Regular host Alexandra de Suze will not be there due to her giving birth a few days before, but the ever fabulous Clara Barton Green will be taking over the night. So come on UP and celebrate year one with us!

 

Come on UP and play with us in Upstate Manhattan! You know you want to. We are continuing the series with "Alex learns a pop song!" and we hope to bring back the Featured Composer Series from the Big Night Out Days, so composers and lyricists, come on up and show us your stuff! (Locals Donna Stearns, music director Rich Campell and 2011 Jonathan Larsen Award winner Josh Cohen have done it, so can YOU!)

Indian Road Café offers an excellent wine and beer –and coffee!-selection as well as great food from paninis to lobster mac and cheese all amidst a warm and casual atmosphere. No doubt, they will ahve some fab Holiday cocktails to offer as well. They also are home to a weekly singer/songwriter open mic, comedy shows and classical performances by Opera On Tap.

 

So come join us for the Uptown Cabaret Thursday, January 19th and continuing on the third Thursday of every month. Come test out your new songs for "audition madness", songs you've resolved to write or learn or songs that you just love to do in a part of the city you might not otherwise see...unless you live up in our fab neighborhood :) 

 

Clara Barton Green is your hostess with the mostess and MD Jonathan Lynch will be fiercely on piano.

Sign-up starts at 6:45 and the show starts at 7pm so grab your book and come on UP to the Uptown Cabaret!
