Following the announcement of her 2019 North American headlining tour, Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt returns today with 'Colder,' the latest single from her forthcoming album, 'The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change,' which will be released February 1(Cooking Vinyl). Written by Nina and produced by Fraser T Smith (Stormzy/ Adele/Drake/Florence and the Machine), 'Colder' talks about the aftermath of heartbreak, and features Nina at her very best, both lyrically and musically. The song is both delicate and dreamy, all while maintaining a cool confidence, and with a killer chorus to boot, 'Colder' will leave listeners anything but.
Talking about the song, Nina explains;"Colder was the last song I wrote for the album. It was written after watching young kids in love and how fearlessly they fall for each other because they've most likely not had their heart broken before. It's a song about the aftermath of that and explaining to someone why you find it hard to open up".

'Colder' comes ahead of Nina's eagerly anticipated new album, 'The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change,' showcasing Nina at her lyrical and musical best and featuring production from Lostboy (Anne-Marie), Fraser T Smith (Adele, Drake, Gorillaz, Florence and the Machine), Jordan Riley (Macklemore, Zara Larsson) and Nina herself.
Album highlights include the multi-layered, story-telling 'The Moments I'm Missing' which was written and produced in Nina's bedroom; the R&B tinged 'The Best You Had' which was embraced by Hollywood royalty in the shape of Chloë Grace Moretz and Taylor Swift, and 'Somebody Special', a love song with a twist which has had over 30 million streams on Spotify alone.
Further highlights are pop classics like The New York Times, Rolling Stone Magazine and FADER approved, BBC Radio 1 and 2 play-listed single 'Loyal To Me.' Currently 'Loyal To Me' is receiving airplay at Top 40 radio in the major markets including Atlanta, Nashville, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, Austin, Las Vegas, San Francisco & many others. Other tracks include the empowering 'Empire' and 'Is It Really Me You're Missing' (the song which was put on hold for Rihanna), which fully showcases Nina's glorious voice.
"I'm so proud of this album," she says."This is the album I always wanted to make on my own terms. It's an honest account of somebody in their early '20s, giving a real window into their often ever changing life."
As if a new album wasn't enough to be excited about, Nina will also be embarking on a 19-city headline tour, starting February 23, 2019 in Dallas, TX. The tour will see Nina bring her evocative tell-it-like-it-is brand of storytelling to cities like Austin, Atlanta, Nashville, Washington, DC, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and more, before wrapping up March 24 in Seattle, WA. Since signing her new deal with Cooking Vinyl, it's been non-stop for Nina, with her music being streamed over 120 million times worldwide and tours of the US with Jake Bugg, a UK and European tour with Lewis Capaldi, a sold-out UK headline tour, and winning the Evolution Award at the SSE Scottish Music Awards. She was also asked to collaborate with emerging female artists Sasha Sloan and Charlotte Lawrence on a new track 'Psychopath' for the launch of Spotify's 'Louder Together' - Nina being the only UK artist to take part.
Nina's reach globally has also been illustrated by the support from both Spotify and Apple and the fact her writing credits now include The Shires, Jessie Ware, Matoma, Olivia Holt, Jonas Blue and more. On top of all of this, Nina has also featured on tracks with other artists, notably 'Somebody' with Sigala & HRVY, plus a new collaboration with Jonas Blue, 'Desperate,' demonstrating how far she has come as an artist and writer.
In a music industry that often doesn't give you time to settle into the artist you want to be, 'The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change' shows that Nina's hard work has been rewarded. Her 2019 is only going to get even bigger and better.
