Salt Cathedral have shared a vibrant and infectious video for their new single "Rude Boy". The video's bold colors & choreography, adventurous styling, and juxtaposition of the tropical with the urban echoes the breezy left-field pop and Caribbean groove of the song. Watch the video here.
The group has also shared their own remix of "Rude Boy" and another by Canadian DJ/producer Robotaki. Salt Cathedral's version brings a disco guitar lick and stomping beat into the mix that weaves in and out, adding moments of intimacy that underscore Juli's dreamy vocal. Robotaki adds lush synthscapes with spacey flourishes that float in the rhythm. Listen to the remixes here.
Salt Cathedral is the New York based duo of Nico and Juli, genre-defying artists who effortlessly draw from the vanguard of electronic music, a scope of Caribbean rhythms, and Colombian dance culture to create an infectious sound that transcends borders. They have released a string of adventurous and acclaimed EPs and singles and are currently working on their debut album. Nico and Juli are both originally from Bogota, Colombia but met in the United States while attending Berklee College of Music. Their experiences in the US over the past decade lead them to experiment with the musical traditions they grew up with in new ways, which grew into their addictive sound that is as forward-thinking as it is accessible. Earlier this year, they released the vibrant track "No Love" and its accompanying video filmed in Cartagena, Colombia, which showcases the joy and boldness of Salt Cathedral.
