Neon Gold/Atlantic Records Announce 10th Anniversary Compilation NGX: TEN YEARS OF NEON GOLD Image

Following their recently announced 10th Anniversary show in NYC on September, 29th - with scheduled performances by The Knocks, Marina & The Diamonds, BROODS, Matt Maeson, Alex Winston, LPX, Your Smith, and more to be announced - Neon Gold (Charli XCX, St. Lucia, Christine and the Queens, etc.) today has announced plans to release their retrospective compilation, 'NGX: Ten Years of Neon Gold' on September, 28th (one day before the celebration) via Neon Gold Records/Atlantic Records. 'NGX: Ten Years of Neon Gold' will offer a rare collection of unreleased and exclusive material from the label's decorated family tree of artists.

Founder of Neon Gold Records, Derek Davies, says, "One of the best things about reaching a milestone like this is taking the opportunity to look back and celebrate all the incredible artists we've been fortunate enough to work with over the years, and we had a lot of fun putting together the NGX compilation, which will feature a number of rare and exclusive tracks from some of our biggest acts, as well as a number of our newer artists covering some of our flagship earlier releases."

As a preview of the exciting collaborations to come, Neon Gold has shared Matt Maeson's "Tribulation" featuring VÉRITÉ via Billboard today. See video!

"It's definitely cool to come back around to a song we recorded almost two years ago." Maeson says. "VÉRITÉ came in and really gave 'Tribulation' a breath of fresh air. I think having her be a part of it reveals a different side of the emotion behind it. Rather than it just being a conversation with myself, it's a conversation with somebody else."

VÉRITÉ adds, "'Tribulation' was one of my most played songs of last year, so I am so happy this collaboration came about. Matt Maeson is an amazing artist with an absolutely insane voice. I'm thrilled to jump in with Matt on this track and celebrate ten years of Neon Gold in the process."

Matt Maeson has been touring the country, selling out shows and bringing his powerful presence and songwriting to adoring audiences, including his recent performance at Lollapalooza...playing songs from his latest EP, 'The Hearse' (out now on Neon Gold / Atlantic Records). Maeson released three stunning visuals for EP tracks "Hallucinogenics," "Put it on Me," and "The Hearse," which collectively create a "short film." With songs that sit somewhere between Jeff Buckley's hypnotic spellweaving and King Krule's off-kilter sonics, Maeson takes familiar sounds in incredible new directions, redefining the idea of what the rambling guitar troubadour can be.

But how Maeson got to 'The Hearse' is as fascinating as his songs: born into a minister family, he spent his youth in a family band, playing songs about salvation for inmates and at prisons and biker rallies across the country. He himself fell into drugs, and then into jail, eventually getting out and working construction for 12 hours a day while doing community service on his days off. Amidst it all, he continued writing songs, and soon began traveling the country with a notebook and a guitar, going back to play in the prisons where he started along with traditional music venues.

Independent alt-pop artist VÉRITÉ catapulted to critical acclaim - and over 150 million Spotify streams - with the release of her debut LP 'Somewhere In Between,' featuring favorites such "Saint" and "Nothing." Currently featured in Kobalt/AWAL's "I Am My Own Label" campaign, on August 28th, she will be performing at Brooklyn's National Sawdust alongside the all-female pop-chamber orchestra Little Kruta. This unique performance is part of the Hum Series which celebrates female and nonbinary artistry in New York City and beyond to nourish creativity. This October, VÉRITÉ will also be bringing her transfixing live show to Austin City Limits.
