Listen to a poignant new song by Nellie McKay!
Idiosyncratic and celebrated recording artist, concert performer and Broadway headliner Nellie McKay shares a new song on SoundCloud this week via the politically charged cover 'Murder In My Heart For The Judge'.
"Murder in my heart for the judge / Well, that mean old bastard wouldn't budge," McKay sings on the bluesy rock song.
The song was originally performed by Moby Grape, written by Jerry Miller, Jr. and Donald Stevenson.
Credits for the new recording of 'Murder In My Heart For The Judge' are as follows: "Performed and arranged by Nellie McKay, banjo by Béla Fleck, bass by Bob Glaub, guitar by Cary Park and drums by David Raven."
Additionally, the track was produced by Geoff Emerick and Nellie McKay and mixed by Spencer Guerra.
Of note, besides starring in THE THREEPENNY OPERA on Broadway with Alan Cumming and Cyndi Lauper, McKay has recently been seen in a featured role in Off-Broadway's OLD HATS, providing musical narration to the idiosyncratic theatre piece. Also, her successful studio albums include GET AWAY FROM ME, PRETTY LITTLE HEAD, HOME SWEET MOBILE HOME and more.
