It was the camaraderie of the
NASHVILLE Scene that tempted Heathen Sons frontman Joshua to make the move from his Native Georgia at the age of 17. It seemed like the obvious choice since Josh's Dad played session work and toured out of
NASHVILLE before he was born: "Music has been a part of my life since I was little. Hearing records throughout the house as a young kid... it makes you feel something.. Happy, sad, mad, whatever it makes you feel... thats what songs do."
Josh has been playing around the scene since he was a teen immersing himself in the vibe of East Nashville, his first band even had Margo Price on drums. The current incarnation of Heathen Sons began playing together just under three years ago and has played with the likes of Nikk Lane, Turnpike Troubadours, American Aquarium, Will Hoge, and Kentucky Headhunters. The band came together through several different channels: meeting up at gigs, through some mutual friends and of course, social media. John the bass player heard about the guys online and seized the opportunity to offer himself up to play bass. Brady the drummer saw an early version of Heathen Sons live and liked what he saw so much he joined soon after.
Influenced heavily by Southern Rock, Heathen Sons cite ZZ Top, Ryan Adams, and Skynard as well as The Black Crowes and Kings Of Leon as inspiration and plan to announce gigs across the South and Midwest soon.
Heathen Sons is: Joshua Huggins - Vocals, Guitar, Dayton Swords - Lead Guitar, John Watson - Bass, Brady Brueggen - Drums.
