Today, Nashville-based big, gay garage pop band, Sundaes, share the new single and video for "Pretty Wife." PopDust, who debuted the video, says, "The ballet Swan [Lake] is the inspiration for the artistry, but is not as serious as the dance itself. Check it out for lots of pink, tulle, and wildness to inspire you."

On the video's inspiration, Sundaes says:
I'd been watching the Kirov's performance of Swan Lake on YouTube a lot around the time I was thinking about video ideas. It's amazing how ballet dancers take something that requires such precise, intense discipline and make it appear so delicate and effortless. I love how much emotion they can express with the softest gestures. I wanted to do sort of a dreamy modern ballet gone awry. Somewhere between Tchaikovsky and Rocky Horror; equal parts "Waltz of the Snowflakes" and "Sweet Transvestite."
The dance was choreographed by Amanda Hameline and the cinematography was done by Monique Juliette Baron.
New, personally hand-made by Sundaes, merch has also just been released, which is now for sale on the band's Bandcamp.
Lovechild of a wayward New York boy and the city of Nashville, Sundaes survives on McFlurrys, Steel Magnolia's and the complete works of Lana Del Rey. The band draws influence from a combination of early oughts' indie rock, blues, and genre assorted hits or all eras. Dancing among the kings of country, a queen does her best.
The band made their performance debut in the spring of 2015 with a set of two sold out shows at the Chelsea Hotel Storefront Gallery in New York. Fall 2015 the song "Walk My Street" appeared in the soundtrack of Best Picture Winner Spotlight. Sundaes' self-titled debut EP was released July 2017. A new single "Pretty Wife" was released May 18th 2018. More to come this summer.
