My Brightest Diamond is dropping a stirring new song today with the release of "Dorian." The song was recorded during the A Million And One LP sessions with My Brightest Diamond's Shara Nova on vocals and guitar, Earl Harvin (Sam Smith, Seal,The The, Tindersticks) on drums and Vincent Taurelle (Air) on keyboards. The song was produced by Nova and The Twilite Tone (Common, Gorillaz, Kanye West) and mixed and mastered by Andrew Scheps (Beyonce, Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

"Dorian" was a song that Nova had been working on for quite some time...

Nova furthers that thought and adds that "'Dorian' is a song about your muse. The love you don't kiss, but always come back to over and over." She was able to finish and record the song while working on her latest studio album - A Million And One - which was released on November 23rd via Rhyme & Reason Records.

The new album is My Brightest Diamond's fifth studio LP and is a sonic departure from Nova's previous releases. On A Million And One Nova stripped back the orchestration and opted to explore song form and rhythm through electronic and dance music. The sound expansion and exploration has been met with accolades from the press. NPR called the album "arresting," called Nova "a remarkable talent" and featured the LP in their New Music Friday show. Pitchfork reviewed the LP and compared her new songs to Troye Sivan and Robyn. The SF Weekly just featured her on the cover of the newspaper ahead of her Noise Pop Fest play in February and the INDY Week did a feature ahead of this weekend's show, writing, "Lucid and otherworldly, A Million and One is like a hazy glimpse into a parallel universe where Laurie Anderson is Robyn's producer."

My Brightest Diamond has been touring non-stop since the album was announced by Rolling Stone in October - hitting the road in North America with Stars at the end of 2018, and headlining dates in the US this February and March before linking up with Death Cab for Cutiefor the Southern leg of their massive US tour. The band will be headlining again starting May 8th with full tour dates below.

"Dorian" is one of the last songs from the A Million And One sessions to be released and is available now via all DSPs - click HERE to listen on your preferred service provider.
