Today, Dr. Oz sits down with Jason Derulo, to kick off the first of the "In Search of Happy" series with radio mogul, Elvis Duran of Elvis Duran and The Morning Show. Derulo talks about what makes him happy and how he was able to overcome his life threatening injury. Jason is also sharing with Dr. Oz his regimen and the tips and tricks he swears by that help keep him in great shape.

On how he was able to find the strength to power through his debilitating injury, Derulo says: "I think it's a combination of things. God, of course, and my mom. It was a crazy experience that, I would wish on nobody, not even my worst enemy, and, it just, taught me a lot. I mean, I wouldn't trade it for the world 'cause I feel like what I've gotten out of the injury, I don't think I would be the same person that I am today."

On how he balances his healthy lifestyle while still enjoying himself, Derulo shares: "It's the 80-20 rule. I mean, for me, it's not about the small diets. It's about creating a lifestyle if you just, you know, happen to, grab a couple Doritos it's not the end of the world but we're not going to have Doritos tomorrow, right? We're going to do it in increments; you know what I'm saying? Just live life and make it a lifestyle, not the small diets that don't really work. It's 80-20."

On his number one tummy tightening tip, Derulo reveals: "I swear by this. It's basically keeping it super simple, super clean. It's a can of tuna that's clean with nothing on it. You can add a little vinegar, a little lime, lemon if you want, and a jug of water. Have a whole jug of water in that day. Two of these cans of tuna, will keep you from eating the other things. But it will also give you that flat look that you're looking for."
