Music Doing Good performs Find Your Voice, an intimate evening of vibrant songs, powerful stories, and philanthropy in action benefitting +Works tonight, November 10, 2012, 6:30 pm at Chateau Carnarvon, a private residence in the Memorial area. +Works is a parent-driven, 501(c)(3) organization serving as a catalyst for creating positive community change by bringing families, schools, and other stakeholders together to get ahead of adult and student bullying and other trending community issues. Highlights of the evening include a champagne reception and a MFAH docent-guided antiquities tour, followed by an inspirational concert.
Founded in 2010 by moms and communications professionals Sarah Fisher and Trish Morille, +Works currently serves 7,800 students and their families in ten public, private, and parochial schools in Houston. “Imagine a school year when we celebrate the great strides each of us has made by finding our voice and working together for the greater good, from home to home plate, from homeroom to the boardroom,” said Fisher and Morille.
In addition to a concert created and performed by Music Doing Good, Special Guest Speaker Dr. Mark Waters, Director of Servant Leadership, McMurry University, will interject prose into the music for a fascinating exploration of the ways we “find our voice” through both song and story.
Through world-class concerts and meaningful outreach programs, Music Doing Good raises friends and funds for outstanding non-profits working in health, education, music and children’s causes. The organization marries mission with music to create uniquely customized events that forge new perspectives and ignite the passion of an organization’s support base, while building like-minded audiences who are eager to help others and improve the world we share.
“We feel that our mission works in tandem with +Works’ mission to connect people who can help and support each other and create a safe environment for discussion and healing. Music Doing Good is honored to support +Works in creating a future generation of ‘upstanders.’ As we say, ‘Do Good. Feel Good.’” – Music Doing Good Creative Director, David LaDuca.Pictured: Musicians Doing Good (Left to Right): Aisha Ussery Adams, Delfeayo Marsalis, Marie Bosarge, Kenneth Gayle, Ray Younkin, Rodney Waters, Anita Kruse, Aaron Kaufman, David LaDuca and Phillip Hall.
