Summer's hottest concert special just got hotter with the addition of reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert - including a fiery duet with Carrie Underwood - to the star-studded lineup on "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock."
The three-hour special airs TUESDAY, AUGUST 5 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network and is hosted for the second year by reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year Little Big Town.
Filmed during the sold-out CMA Music Festival in June, which is a four-day party celebrating America's music, the special also features stadium concert performances by Rascal Flatts, Thomas Rhett, and Keith Urban, and a Late Night Jam at a Nashville club with Cole Swindell.
Previously announced performers included Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Hunter Hayes, Brad Paisley, and The Band Perry.
The special first aired in 2004. This is the 10th time ABC will broadcast the special - which invites the whole country to America's largest Country Music celebration. The annual special will air on ABC through 2021.
The Aug. 12, 2013 airing of "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock" (8.3 million and 2.0/6) dominated its three-hour time period and spiked over 2012's telecast (5.7 million and 1.5/4 on 9/17/12) by 46 percent in viewers and by 33 percent in Adults 18-49. In fact, the 2013 special drew the biggest-ever audience on ABC and equaled a seven-year high in Adults 18-49 (since 2006). ABC began airing the annual program in 2005.
"CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock" is executive-produced by Robert Deaton.
