As the Love Hope Strength Foundation continues its worldwide growth, the charity that promotes innovative, music related outreach and awareness programs for leukemia and cancer sufferers, survivors and their families has partnered with Zip World for Snowdonia Rocks and Zip World Rocks 2018. The June 23event in Wales, UK will kick off with the Snowdonia Rocks hike to be followed by the Zip World Rocks 2018 concert celebrationwith the goal to raise £20,000 for families affected by cancer in North Wales and beyond. This marks the first-ever festival for Zip World which has teamed with Love Hope Strength Foundation--the charity founded by Mike Peters of internationally acclaimed rock band THE ALARM--for the event.

The day will begin and end at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry inBethesda, Wales where hikers will complete a 20km walk, with 24 of the fundraisers facing Velocity 2 at the start of the walk. At the conclusion of the hike, participants will have the opportunity to experience Zip World, Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda which features 48 Velocity Zip Wire Challenges: the fastest zip line in the world and the longest in Europe. Later that evening, hikers can celebrate with a host of local Welsh artists for an evening of music and food set against the impressive backdrop of Penrhyn Quarry.

Performers for Zip World Rocks 2018 include Love Hope Strength Foundation founder Mike Peters of The Alarm, Maffia Mr Huws, Band Pres Llareggub (regulars at nearby Festival No.6), male voice choir Cor Y Penrhyn and North Wales four-pieceThe Storyville Mob and will wrap with a headlining set from the iconic Slade (with founding members Dave Hill and Don Powell with ex Mud bass guitarist John Berry and former Sweet vocalist Mal McNulty).

Snowdon Rocks began just over 10 years ago, when Mike Peterswas receiving treatment in the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre and he made a pledge to climb Snowdon as soon as he got well enough to do so. As he looked at the mountains of Snowdonia from his window in the hospital, Mike would feel ever more determined to get fit enough to hike. It was here that his plans to give back to those who had cared for him, and who continue to do so, and to help others with a cancer diagnosis first began to form. It was here that the ideas behind Love Hope Strength were born.

Beryl Roberts, Lead Cancer Nurse in North Wales, says: "The cancer services team here in North Wales is so grateful to Love Hope Strength Foundation for the support they give to our patients, and to Zip World for all they are doing to help raise money.

Proceeds from Snowdonia Rocks and Zip World Rocks will supportLHS's three grant schemes: the Get On The List program; equipment and new facilities in UK hospitals; and support for cancer services across the globe, helping some of the most vulnerable families in underdeveloped countries.

Snowdonia Rocks comes just days before the June 29 release ofTHE ALARM's new EQUALS album. Produced by George Williams(who previously worked on 2005's Under Attack), EQUALS opens with a torrent of epic rock numbers ("Two Rivers"and future single"Beautiful"). With MIKE and JULES joined by Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros drummer Smiley and guitarist James Stevenson, who cut his teeth with Chelsea, Gen X and The Cult, the album encompasses twin harmony guitars, pounding drums and electronic layering, while guest guitarist Billy Duffy (The Cult)helps PETERS and Stevenson blend acoustic and electric sounds on"Coming Backwards."

The first leg of THE ALARM'S 2018 North American month-long tour kicks off July 25 in Minneapolis, MN and wraps August 26 in Los Angeles, CA. More dates will follow along with news of a U.S. event (similar to Snowdownia Rocks) to be announced in the coming months.
