The Monkees lead singer and drummer Micky Dolenz is live in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, August 1, at 8 p.m. Micky is known to the world as a director, author, television actor, Broadway star and, most recognizably, as the drummer and lead singer of the legendary '60s group, The Monkees. Who can forget their debut single, "Last Train to Clarksville", which hit the charts in September 1966 and rocketed to #1? Not to mention their television show, The Monkees, which debuted on NBC and earned an Emmy Award. Other Monkees' hits, including "I'm a Believer" and "Daydream Believer", sold in excess of 65 million units with the first five albums attaining Platinum status. This show is an opportunity to see a rock 'n' roll legend up close and personal. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a pre-show cocktail party 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d'oeuvre and priority parking, is available for this show by calling the box office (203-438-5795), which is part of the Xfinity Rock Series..
"And then there's Micky Dolenz -- what a voice! Seriously! ...like, Roy Orbison-level, Freddie Mercury-level." --Huffington Post And Web Gossip/Times Square Gossip/NYC wrote this: "I've always read where Dolenz has one of the best voices in rock 'n roll -... I was convinced tonight. He was superb!"
