The Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts (SBCPA) presents the 2013/2014 Granada Theatre Concert Series, an exciting series of performances featuring family-friendly shows and popular contemporary artists, sponsored in part by Lexus and the Santa Barbara Independent. This season, The Granada Theatre will be celebrating 90 years of music and entertainment gracing the historic theater's stage. The SBCPA, Santa Barbara's leading performing arts non-profit organization, will also collaborate with The Granada Theatre's resident companies on an outstanding line-up of performing arts accessible to the entire Santa Barbara community and beyond. This highly anticipated 90th Anniversary season will be one to remember, bringing exciting world-class talent to The Granada Theatre's stage.

Memphis Music Fest - Friday, August 23, 2013 at 8:00pm

The Granada Theatre Concert Series kicks off with Memphis Music Fest - a brilliant fusion of soul, R&B and funk featuring Booker T, The Bar-kays, William Bell, Jean Knight and Eddie Floyd. Plan now to join as this collection of soul music masters takes the stage of the historic Granada Theatre for a night of great showmanship and musical memories.

Peter White, David Benoit, and David Pack - Friday, September 13, 2013 at 8:00pm

Smooth jazz returns to The Granada Theatre stage with this triple bill of well-known and well-loved masters of the genre. Peter White, one of the most versatile and prolific acoustic guitarists in contemporary jazz, has a career that spans nearly four decades and includes more than a dozen solo recordings. Starting with his first recordings in 1977, pianist David Benoit's catalog of solo recordings now numbers more than 25, including the Grammy-nominated Every Step of the Way. David Pack is known as the lead singer, guitarist, and writer for the legendary rock group Ambrosia, and has since established himself as a respected solo artist, Grammy-winning record producer, and music director of special events, including both of President Clinton's Inaugurations.

Dr. John, or Mac Rebennack as he is known to friends and family, is universally celebrated as the living embodiment of the rich musical heritage exclusive to New Orleans. The winner of six Grammy Awards and a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Dr. John's music is a potent dose of blues, pop and jazz, as well as zydeco, boogie woogie, and rock & roll. Several of his many career highlights include the masterful album Sun, Moon, and Herbs in 1971, which included cameos from Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger and, in 1973, In the Right Place, which contained the hit songs "Right Place Wrong Time" and "Such A Night."

Dave Koz and Friends Christmas Tour - Monday, December 16, 2013 at 8:00pm

Back by popular demand for the third straight year, this uplifting and high-energy show is one the whole family will love. Get into the holiday spirit as some of music's biggest names jam on fresh, lively arrangements of seasonal favorites, led by multi-Grammy nominee and saxophonist extraordinaire, Dave Koz. Joining Dave this year are Japanese born pianist/composer/producer Keiko Matsui, world-renowned singer Oleta Adams, and Jonathan Butler, who was the first black artist played on white stations in his native South Africa.

Built in 1924, The Granada Theatre has been an integral part of Santa Barbara's arts and entertainment landscape for almost 90 years. The Granada Theatre has played host to some of the 20th century's greatest entertainers, from Al Jolson, Charlie Chaplin, and Fred Astaire to Henry Fonda, Yo Yo Ma, Steve Martin and the Berlin Philharmonic, to name a few.
