Melissa Etheridge to Play in Philly in Support of New Album THIS IS M.E., 11/4

Grammy winning alternative rock icon Melissa Etheridge brings her This Is M.E. U.S. tour to the Merriam Theater on November 4 at 8 p.m. in support of new album release, This is M.E. (ME Records, September 30). The Philadelphia performance is part of 25 city Fall-Winter tour and features Etheridge performing songs spanning her 26-year career including greatest hits, "Come to My Window," "I'm The Only One," "I Want to Come Over," and music from new album. Singer-songwriter Alexander Cardinale, known as the emotionally revealing, talented "Xander," will open the performance.

"I am so thrilled to be playing the new songs from This Is M.E. along with the hits on this tour," said Etheridge. She continues, "Be prepared for a high voltage show with nonstop energy."

Recorded in New York and Los Angeles, This is M.E. features 11 new songs all written or co-written by Melissa Etheridge along with writers such as Jon Levine (Andy Grammer), Jerrod Bettis (Birdy, Adele), Jerry Wonda and Roccstar and includes tracks produced by Levine, Bettis and Mark Batson(Grace Potter & The Nocturnals).

Known for her iconic voice, profound lyrics and riveting stage presence, Melissa Etheridge will share personal stories about her remarkable journey through life and the inspiration behind some of her most beloved songs. Etheridge loves to tell stories through her music; she included old home movies, career highlights and memorabilia in her video for "Take My Number," the first single off of This Is M.E.

With the release of her first album and first Grammy nomination in 1988, Etheridge sat in the No. six spot on the Billboard Album charts in 1995 with the release of Your Little Secret. Her 1999 albumBreakdown reached No. 12, while 2001's Skin landed at No. 9 on the chart and 2004's Lucky reached No. 15. With fifteen total nominations and two Grammy Awards, Etheridge's won an Academy Award for Best Original Song in An Inconvenient Truth. She was more recently awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

Actor and singer-songwriter, Alexander Cardinale, has worked in various films, TV and Web shows, such as The Social Network and Apocalypse, CA. Cardinale has his own recording studio located in THUD Studios of North Hollywood. Named one of "HOT 100" by Music Connection magazine and nominated for Best AAA/Adult Contemporary Artist of 2011 by the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, he has released the following albums: Sick of Dreaming (2009), Green Christmas (2010), Traffic Lights (2011), and the single, "One Shot" (2013).
