Melbourne artist, MEG MAC reveals another taste of her long awaited debut album, LOW BLOWS, with the powerful new song, "Don't Need Permission", premiering on COMPLEX- a track that they describe as "soaring and inspiring".

Unafraid and disconcerted, "Don't Need Permission" is a call to arms for anyone who has ever felt the they had to apologize for who they are and seeks empowerment in embracing your own needs. Meg elaborates, "Don't Need Permission' is about being yourself and not changing who you are for anyone. It was recorded and produced in Malibu, LA with Christopher Braide. I played piano and used lots of different layered harmonies and melodies to build the song."

Her debut record was recorded in Fort Worth, Texas at the Niles City Sound Studio - with the same team behind Leon Bridge's debut- and with additional production at Electric Lady in New York. Her debut record, "Low Blows" is a powerful collection of dynamic, deep soul, exhortations that have an all-enveloping atmosphere and presence, that is distinctly and uniquely MEG MAC.

Leading up to the announcement of her debut record, MEG MAC spent long periods in America writing and touring; performing at major festivals including Governor's Ball, Hangout Fest and Field Trip Festival, tours with Clean Bandit and an inspirational North American 'Black Messiah' tour with D'Angelo as well as her own debut sold out shows in NYC and LA.

Her 2015 self-titled EP garnered critical acclaim in the States, heralding praise from the likes of InStyle, Glamour, Refinery29, Rolling Stone, NYLON, NOISEY and more. Her track, "Roll Up Your Sleeves" was playlisted on stations across America, and featured in the US TV series 'Girls' and 'Grace and Frankie'.

"Low Blows" will be released on July 14, 2017 via 300 Entertainment.
