Matty Carlock Teams Up With Fellow Jerseyan Bulletproof Belv For F BEING FRIENDS

After working behind the scenes for some of hip hop's most exciting voices, New Jersey singer-songwriter Matty Carlock has stepped forward this year with some of his own material that branches out from his usual, featuring Albee Al, Cage, and Bulletproof Belv. Today, Matty and Belv release the visuals for their upbeat single "F Being Friends," from Belv's recently released With or Without You LP. Featuring a club-ready danceable beat and a catchy chorus, "F Being Friends" seamlessly fills in the gaps between rap, singer-songwriter, and pop music.

Matty is continuing to maintain his parallel (and now, overlapping) simultaneous presence in opposite worlds: coming next year is the singer-songwriter's debut solo LP, leaning into a different aspect of local sound. Highly influenced by the patron saint of New Jersey, the collection of Springsteenian anthems includes features by Jesse Malin, Jared Hart, and the musical debut of celebrity photographer Danny Clinch. Matty Carlock is a singer/songwriter from Middletown, NJ. Born into the New Jersey hardcore scene, he cut his teeth singing for underground hardcore outfits including the Metal-core pioneers Shai Hulud. He began to branch out into other genres of music with his debut 2014 Americana release "Loveless." He's since then toured the world, playing sold out shows across the US, Germany, England, Eastern Europe and Canada all while evolving into a hip-hop producer - writing and collaborating with influential rappers such as Cage, Jersey City's own Albee Al, Chad B, battle rap national champion Arsonal Da Rebel, and Bulletproof Belv, then gaining the attention of superstar Fetty Wap and major media outlets such as The Source Magazine, and Respect Magazine.
