Matt Citron released his debut project, Final Moments of Forever, on Friday via Brooklyn Knights/Sony Music/RAL. The emotive album showcases Matt's sonic versatility and lyrical depth. On the album, Matt reflects on the sacrifices made for his craft and the obstacles he's overcome in pursuit of his passion. That album includes features from CyHi The Prince (featured on Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Cruel Summer), Money Makin' Nique and Kiya Lacey. Stand out track, "Never Worried" is currently featured on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist - Matt's second consecutive New Music Friday feature to date.

"On this project I really tried to organize all of my biggest thoughts and experiences over the past few years and put them into something that everyone could hear and connect with," explains Matt. "I wanted to have a conversation with the listener, almost like it was just me and them sitting down talking about life late at night. If I touched on something in the project I tried to be as raw and honest as I possibly could, anything less and I feel like I wouldn't have been doing justice to myself or anyone listening."

At the top of December, while on the road with Xavier Wulf, Matt released the autobiographical visuals for "Stay Down" (39K+ views) via The Source. The projects' first official single, "Save My Soul" was featured on Spotify's New MusicFriday playlist upon release - helping garner almost 121K Spotify streams in just two weeks - and is currently featured on Spotify's The Realest Down South playlist and Filtr's Stay Loyal: Hip Hop and R&B playlist on Apple Music.
Matt is a lyrical-beast. With a co-sign from the legendary DJ Greg Street, it isn't hard to tell that Matt doesn't subscribe to the same trap aesthetic familiar to his hometown, Atlanta. Matt unleashed "404" and "Stay Down" in September (along with accompanying visuals) as well as an "Election Day" freestyle and "To Whom It May Concern" in anticipation of the project - all showcasing his ferocious, lyrical chops.
Although the 22-year-old hails from the east side of Atlanta, he doesn't necessarily look the part. Since childhood, hip-hop was always summoning Matt, although his first love was basketball. With Atlanta hoops and hip-hop so intertwined, he developed a strong affinity for native rap champs like OutKast, T.I. and Ludacris, and freestyling became an everyday activity. By his sophomore year of college, it was becoming clear that Matt's passion for punchlines had grown exponentially greater than his obsession with jumpshots. Now, with the release of his debut project and support from key digital accounts and tastemakers, Matt is poised to become Atlanta's next superstar.
