Mastodon Featured as 'White Walkers' in the Season Finale Episode of HBO's GAME OF THRONES

Mastodon were featured on the season finale of HBO's smash TV phenomenon Game of Thrones. Band members Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher, and Brent Hinds portrayed White Walkers in the final episode of the season, "The Dragon and the Wolf,"which aired last night, August 27. This marks the second time Mastodon has been invited to participate as extras in Game of Thrones by the show's creator and executive producer, Dan Weiss. The scenes were filmed on location in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Three band members made their screen debut as wildlings in episode 8 of season 5, "Hardhome," which premiered on May 31,2015. Mastodon fans will recall the exclusive song "White Walker" that originally appeared on THE GAME OF THRONES MIXTAPE, Catch the Throne: The Mixtape Vol. 2, later released as a limited edition 12" picture disc in 2016.
