Marshall Jefferson Wins Electronic Music Pioneer Honor at 2017 DJ Awards

Marshall Jefferson has won the Electronic Music Pioneer honour in the 2017 DJ Awards.
Few men have been as instrumental in the development of Chicago house music since the 1980s as Marshall Jefferson because he has had a hand in everything from deep house to acid house to ghetto house. Whether crafting his own bona-fide classics like 'Move Your Body' or 'The House Anthem' or playing the keys on the productions of peers like CeCe Rogers' 'Someday' (with whom he now runs USB Records) or whether touring the world taking his unique house sound and many Traxx releases to fans everywhere, Jefferson is and always will be mentioned whenever the history of house is discussed.

The Godfather of House Music scooped the coveted trophy at the 2017 DJ Awards (Electronic Music Awards) held in Ibiza on Tuesday night. Marshall Jefferson took to his social media to share the news with fans and thank for their support. Other jocks who were awarded include: veteran deejays Carl Cox (Best Techno DJ), HARDWELL (International DJ, Big Groom House), Armin van Buuren (Best Trance DJ), among others.

The world-renowned deejay won one of the ceremony's top honours at the prestigious event. The international award ceremony, which aims to celebrate and unite deejays, industry professionals and media together at the end of the Ibiza summer season, celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.
