Maribou State Release New Video For KINGDOM, US Tour Starts Next Month Image

Directed by David Horsburgh at Agile Films, the video brings to life Maribou State's "Kingdom (feat. North Downs)". Drawing on the themes of their recent album Kingdoms In Colour, the visuals build a "universe of picture postcards in bloom".

David Horsburgh says of the video:

"We wanted to create a video that echoed the track's themes of travel and exploration, playing with the ways in which people travelling can change and transform landscapes as well as themselves. So, a mixed media collage approach really spoke to us; sourcing vintage footage from creative commons sources and then subverting it with VFX to turn it into something new. The flower motif from the band's album artwork as the inspiration for the flowers that grow throughout the vide; out of canyons, eyes, and even on the moon!"

Their latest album Kingdoms In Colour came with collaborations with notable musicians like Khruangbin, comparisons to acts such as the XX, James Blake, and Mount Kimbie, and huge support from Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw, Gilles Peterson. Press support came from the likes of Bandcamp, GQ, and withMixmag naming them as one of their "Artists Of The Year" 2018.

They are also heading out across the US for sold-out shows at legendary venues such as The Roxy (LA), The Great American Music Hall (SF), Elsewhere(NY), and more. See full tour dates below.
