Mama Doni & The Mama Doni Band to Celebrate Chanukah on Sirius/XM

It's Chanukah! It's Thanksgiving! At the same time! To celebrate the festive season, Mama Doni & The Mama Doni Band will bring their inimitable brand of "funky music with a Jewish twist" to Mama Doni's Chanukah Special, a full-length concert to be broadcast throughout Thanksgiving weekend on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio's Kids Place Live (Channel 78).

There has never been a mama quite like Mama Doni, who manages to score a perfect 10 in the world of family music with a joyful celebration of Jewish tradition, culture, and ruach (spirit).

Rocking out for Chanukah, Mama Doni & The Mama Doni Band will perform such latkelicious songs as "La Vida Dreidel," "Chanukah Fever," "A Land Called Sufganiyot" (a reggae song about jelly doughnuts), and even a wild bluegrass version of a song about Chanukah gelt, "Honey, This Ain't Money," from Mama Doni's new DVD, Mama Doni's Jewish Holiday Party, and her new album, Mama Doni: The Acoustic Jewish Holiday Collection. Kids in the Kids Place Live "Rumpus Room" audience will boogie like a dreidel, air guitar with the band ("Latke Man" style), join in an applesauce vs. sour cream rock-along, and chime in on the eternal question of "Chanukah" or "Hanukah." Hip young kids and their even hipper parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles listening at home should be prepared to get up and dance at these spirited Jewish rock concerts.
