Malaysia's alextbh Debuts 'no space' // Jess Connelly Tour Slated Image

Today, Malaysian artist alextbh has released a bombastic brand new single "no space." The track debuted today with Wonderland Magazine and is available to stream now.

Speaking about the song, Alex told Wonderland, "I wrote this song after a hookup one night. The premise is pretty much "I wanted sex, I got it, I loved the feeling of it, and I want to share it." It's liberating - both sexually and in writing pop. I went to Denmark fully prepared to make some sadboy s, so it's funny that this song came out of that trip. I guess every artist needs a bit of fun Scandi-pop in their repertoire."

alextbh has also announced he will tour as direct support alongside Filipino-Aussie artist Jess Connellyon a run of Asian tour dates this February, as well as a performance at Indonesia's Lalala Festival. The 2019 dates follow a notable direct support performance for Khalid last fall at his show in Alex's hometown of Kuala Lumpur.

November 2018, alextbh released new single "walls," a lush, pulsing slow jam produced by acclaimed UK artist Maths Time Joy. Listen to "walls" and watch the lyric video now. The track debuted alongside a an exclusive interview with i-D.

"walls" followed the release of previous single "still mine," which is available to stream now. First debuting with the The Line of Best Fit , the track rides a subtle line between lush R&B and industrial pop and was the first taste of alextbh's 2018 output. "still mine" was released alongside a stunning official video, which debuted alongside an exclusive interview with PAPER detailing the video's inspiration and discussing Alex's struggle as part of the marginalized LGBTQ community in Malaysia.

Living openly gay and unafraid to proudly embody his queer identity, alextbh is an anomaly among a highly conservative and unaccepting Malaysian society where the government has been outwardly and outspokenly opposed to the LGBTQ community. For him, music is not only an outlet for resistance but a platform to incite strength and resolve within his local (and global) community.

Since his 2016 debut release "tbh," alextbh has amassed over 20 million Spotify streams with track "Stoop So Low" garnering nearly 12MM streams alone.
