The Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra is proud to present the Jazz Heritage Festival 2012 featuring jazz artists Manty Ellis and Dan Nimmer. The festival is slated for Friday, January 27 and begins at 9 AM.
The schedule for the festival is as follows: from 9 AM-noon, the talented young musicians of MYSO and surrounding middle schools and high school will perform live jazz combo sets to showcase their dedication and hard work. Lunch will be available for purchase following the performance until 1pm. Following the lunch break, The Manty Ellis trio will perform a masterclass in jazz until 2pm. From 2-3pm, all performers of the Heritage Festival will partake in an interactive group clinic/"jam session" and dig into jazz, both rehearsed and unrehearsed. To wrap up the festival, Milwaukee native, jazz virtuoso, and special guest Dan Nimmer will perform.
