Give a grave enough time and something will grow from it-that's exactly how Philadelphia four-piece Low Dose was borne to the world. Whether we're talking the dissolution of past projects, or the crumbling of a marriage, the quartet live with a resiliency that translates to their truculent sound.
On their self-titled debut, Low Dose hit all the right notes for those who fancy the more melodic side of the noise-rock coin, especially those who lean toward the sonic bedlam of Metz and the silvery chime of Slint. Low Dose was recorded and mixed by Steve Poponi (Fight Amp, Psychic Teens) and mastered by Dave Downham (Creepoid, Beach Slang), making for a sound that's as visceral as it is infectious. In the end, Low Dose is the sound of transcending your circumstances and moving on with your life.
Today, the band is celebrating their record release with a brand new music video for first album single "For Sure." Directed by Mark Diehl, this fly-on-the-wall capture of their visceral live performance is nothing short of stellar. Watch and share the video for "For Sure" on YouTube.
Low Dose's self-titled debut is out today via Brutal Panda / Knife Hits Records. Preorders are available here and here. See Low Dose on tour next month.
