In celebration of her new blues/folk inspired pop/rock album Speed Bump, San Francisco-based singer/songwriter LIZ KENNEDY (www.lizkennedymusic.com) brings her soulful sound to Fenix on Sunday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m.

Performing with her is the Clean White Shirt Band. The venue is located at 919 Fourth St., San Rafael, CA 94901, near Kennedy's hometown of San Francisco. Cover charge is $10 and includes a free copy of Speed Bump.

Kennedy's road to success includes her first ever Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) nomination she picked up in May in the folk/acoustic category for "Speed Bump," the title track from her newly released fourth full-length album. The 7th Annual HMMAs will take place Thursday, November 20, 2014 at The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood. The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the globe.

The Bay Area-based singer/songwriter, who also recently showcased material from the recording with The Clean White Shirt Band at The Sleeping Lady in Fairfax, Calif., is gaining airplay on various AAA and Americana stations all around the country.

Devon Cathlin of Surfrockmusic.com recently said, "Liz is funny, profound, friendly, clever ... and the exact kind of person we all need and want as a best friend. Her music is the same...Be prepared for a colorful and exciting experience with Speed Bump."

Kennedy faced more than one 'speed bump' in her life, both creatively and emotionally on the road to her exciting emergence in 2006 with her debut album Clean White Shirt. Now 63, fit, beautiful and full of the kind of life-affirming energy she could never have imagined before, she's very confident with her choice - and coincidentally inspiring others to take risks in middle age with the passions that drive them.

Influenced by legendary artists like Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, Randy Newman and Carole King, Kennedy adds her own unique, inviting stamp of her sandpaper and honey tinged vocals on Speed Bump's 14 dynamic folk/blues influenced pop/rock tracks.

Her guitarist Joel Jaffe, who produced Speed Bump as well Kennedy's previous recordings, is a renowned Bay Area-guitarist, engineer and producer whose credits include Maria Muldaur, Lenny Williams and Magic Christian, has been one of the greatest influences on the singer's musical development. Along with Jaffe, other musicians who will perform with Kennedy at her upcoming show include drummer Billy Johnson (Santana, Maze, Joyce Cooling), Eamonn Flynn on organ and keyboard, and Omega Rae on back-up vocals.
