The 19th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival has announced San Diego Blues/Rock duo Little Hurricane for the Bal de Maison, a special weekend opening performance at the Historic Sheridan Opera House on Thursday, September 13th at 9:00pm. Limited tickets for Bal de Maison are $20.00 and are currently on sale now at tellurideblues.com or by phone at (866) 515-6166.
Little Hurricane is currently touring the country in support of their debut album, Homewrecker, a hard-hitting sounding album that spins their timeworn dirty blues with a formula of comforting familiarity with originality. That is the one musical accolade that sticks out about this album, their originality and consistency throughout the album. Each album track blends their unique sound with the next and leaves you wanting more! The album is packed with raw, dirty blues spun with indie rock influences, great lyrics and a sound that will be unforgotten.
The sound of Little Hurricane seems to embed soulful verses and harmonized vocals, blending a synergic approach to finding the thread between the electric soul of Chicago blues and the raw grit of West Coast indie rock. Fronted by Anthony "Tone" Catalano on guitar, and backed by Celeste "CC" Spina on drums, the two young multi-instrumentalists have been making waves with their tension-building song structures embedded in six string distortion, heavy percussion, and tragically honest lyrical content.
As I Live Music blogger, Adam E. Smith put it, "this dynamic chemistry has afforded them the chance to take their deep blues tales to the frontlines of festivals with spots at Lollapalooza, South By Southwest, and Austin City Limits." Making it a habit to stun audiences around the country, the buzzing live performance whirlwind is nothing short of impressive for a Southern California band that met via Craigslist and released their debut album Homewrecker in April of last year.
Three-day, Single Day, and Juke Joint (late night) passes are currently on sale. Three-day passes are available for $170 each, Saturday and Sunday Single Day passes are $65 each, and Friday passes just $55 each. Juke Joint passes are $25 per night, and feature late night jams at various intimate venues. Festival 4-day camping passes are $40 per person, with camping located adjacent to the Festival grounds starting Thursday, September 13.
