Little Anthony & The Imperials Play Feinstein's at Loews Regency 4/5-4/16

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post will continue its Winter 2011 season with the debut of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees LITTLE ANTHONY & THE IMPERIALS from April 5 through 16. For their first New York nightclub engagement in 35 years, The Imperials will perform hits from their extraordinary career as one of R&B's most popular vocal groups including "Tears on My Pillow," "Goin' Out of My Head," "Shimmy, Shimmy, Ko-Ko-Bop" and more. All shows take place at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

LITTLE ANTHONY & THE IMPERIALS have begun to take the concert stages by storm once again. Officially reuniting in early 1992, the group had not performed together for over 17 years, yet the magic returned immediately and audiences are showing their approval with thunderous applause. This successful reunion has already brought the group to sold-out appearances at concert halls and performance venues throughout the US, including Madison Square Gardens in New York and the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. The group was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame and honored as recipients of the Rhythm & Blues Foundation's Fourth Annual Pioneer Award. They were also inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame Museum in Sharon, PA.

After high school, Anthony Gourdine, originally with "The Duponts," left to join "The Chesters," a group founded by Clarence Collins, who were looking for a lead voice. In early 1958, A&R men Richard Barrett and Lou Gally spotted the group and signed them to a contract and named them "The Imperials." Their first record for End Records was a double-sided ballad smash. The "A" side, "Tears on My Pillow," instantly launched their career into musical history. This would be one of their biggest-selling hits, with over one million copies sold, and has been one of the most enduring love ballads of the '50s. The flip side hit, "Two People In The World," made this one of the most popular double-sided ballad records in vocal group history.

The Imperials are one of very few R&B groups that started in the 1950s that are still touring with the majority of their original members. In 2002 and 2003 they appeared in two popular PBS specials; Rock, Rhythm, and Doo-Wop, and Soul Spectacular: 40 Years Of R&B. Around the same time, they recorded their first concert album ever - Little Anthony & the Imperials - Live: Up Close & Personal - and Pure Acapella, an all-acapella CD showcasing the group's vocal talents on several classic 50's doo-wop songs. They performed on "Late Night with David Letterman" in 2008 to celebrate their latest recording, You'll Never Know.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present LITTLE ANTHONY AND THE IMPERIALS from Tuesday, April 5 through Saturday, April 16 with the following schedule: Tuesday through Thursday at 8:30 PM; and Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 PM and 10:30 PM.
