Death of Lovers have been anything but dormant in the three years since their initial surfacing. Amidst three members' grueling tour schedule with slowcore group Nothing, the quartet siphoned away time to prepare for the next leap in their stylistic evolution. Carrying the '80s tinged hallmarks peppered throughout their initial EP, The Acrobat is an ambitious experiment with thoughtful synth-driven pop. Interwoven synths, clanging drum beats and currents of guitar kick up the dust to their post-punk forbearers. With The Acrobat's eight tracks, Death of Lovers explore the fractured depths of sound and fury one song at a time.
The Acrobat will be released this Friday on
DAIS Records. Death of Lovers have also announced a handful of shows in support of the album in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia (dates below).
