On Friday, Laura Stevenson's fifth full-length, The Big Freeze, will finally hit down on CD, LP, and digital download. Today, though, you can sustain yourself with the album's third single, "Dermatillomania," and a feature interview with Laura via Fader.
Melodically, "Dermatillomania" is the The Big Freeze's breeziest moment, with jangling guitar riffs that call back to '80s indie-pop. The sweetness of the hooks masks a darker sentiment, though -- a song about self-harm and the struggle to heal.

LAURA STEVENSON INTERVIEWED BY FADER
Recorded in her childhood home during the dead of winter, The Big Freezerepresents a pivotal step for Stevenson. For the first time on record, her voice and guitar are in clear focus. And though it is easily the darkest album of Stevenson's career, it is also without a doubt her most powerful.
