Stirling, also a dancer, composer and performance artist, came to prominence in 2010 on television's "America's Got Talent," where she was characterized as a 'hip hop violinist.' She made it to the quarter finals before being dismissed by judge Piers Morgan as "not good enough to get away with flying through the air and trying to play the violin at the same time." Although initially devastated, Stirling decided to continue to embrace her unique style of performance and went on to remarkable success by marketing herself on the Internet, in particular on YouTube, where her channel now has nearly 6 million subscribers. Her self-titled debut album racked up over 90 million views on YouTube, and her most recent album, "Shatter Me," debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.
