Country music icon and America's patriot Lee Greenwood will be available November 6, prior to Veterans Day November 11, to highlight our country's 22 million veterans who are struggling to fit back into civilian life because they're physically injured or suffering mental health conditions. As a two-time CMA Male Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year winner ("God Bless The U.S.A.), Lee will also be available to chat about the 51st CMA Awards on November 8.
Lee Greenwood is currently a celebrity Ambassador for the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), a nonprofit charity DAV is a leading nonprofit that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families. Every year, we help more than 1 million veterans in positive, life-changing ways by helping them access benefits they earned, like healthcare, education and disability, and connecting them to meaningful employment opportunities. His stand-out hit "God Bless the U.S.A." has been in the top five on the country singles charts three times (1991, 2001 and 2003), giving it the distinction of being the only song in any genre of music to achieve that feat. It was also No. 1 on the pop charts after 9/11. Known for his stand-out patriotism and support of the U.S. Military, Greenwood has been honored with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society's National Patriot's Award, and entertained troops on more than 30 USO Tours.
Throughout his expansive career, Greenwood has earned multiple CMA and ACM Awards, a GRAMMY® for Top Male Vocal Performance on "I.O.U," in 1985, and a multitude of other prestigious award nominations.
