Lavendine's First Single 'You Can't Change My Mind' Out Today

Sisters, Jana and Jacy grew up surrounded by music their whole lives, performing around their Oklahoma town since the ages of four and even hosting their own radio show for a year. Always having a passion to pursue music, Jana and Jacy endured several tries and struggles before being able to form Lavendine. The duo is beyond ready to delve into the music scene with the release of their debut single, "You Can't Change My Mind." With prominent country roots strewn throughout their heartfelt, story-telling lyrics, the ladies have a unique, yet classy 80s pop/rock sound. Growing up in a small country town, it's no wonder where those influences came from, but when they heard songs from Diamond Rio and Chicago, they immediately fell in love with the classic 80s-pop/rock styles, which quickly shaped the sounds on their first album, Feel My Way, set to release later this year.

Though music has always been their passion, it wasn't always their career. Performing and even winning multiple competitions throughout their childhood, Jana and Jacy were ready to make music their lives, but their mother had a different plan for them. Agreeing on two years of college, the sisters followed their mother's orders, even making the Dean List's. Finally they were ready to start their career and moved to the music-capitol, Nashville. After working with several producers and executives who didn't fully understand their musical concept, Lavendine packed their bags and headed home to Oklahoma where they met and married brothers, Daniel and Jessie. Though happiness came about through marriage and family, Jana and Jacy both struggled with medical issues year after year, setting their dreams of music even farther aside than they already were.

With strength and determination, the two persevered through the darkness in their lives, which can be heard in their powerful lyrics, and continued to pursue their dreams this time doing it all on their own. Moving back to Nashville, the sisters already had many songs written that they couldn't wait to record. They teamed up with Danny Duncan (Bruce Springsteen, Usher, Amy Grant) who helped produce the album, as well as Ed Seay (Martina McBride, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton) who was their mixing engineer for the whole album and John Merchant (BeeGees, Mika, Michael Buble), who mixed the song "Does Anybody Hear Me." Lavendine finally found a team who truly understood who they were as artists, letting the twins create an album that they had the final say on.

Always fans of multiple genres, Lavendine's music weaves seamlessly between pop, country, and adult contemporary, creating a timeless feeling through the ten songs. It is having this completed album that has made them realize, in hindsight, that music has always been one of life's best distractions from heartache, for their own as well as the people they perform for. Look for the release of their album, Feel My Way, this fall and the first single, "You Can't Change My Mind" today, July 16th.
