Lauren Shera's upcoming tour kicks off August 2 with Jackie Greene Band and will make stops in major cities including New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Seattle.
During a recent stop in Chicago, Shera recorded several tracks with Daytrotter from her new album Gold and Rust, which is out now on DigSin. Listen to the session featuring "Light and Dust" here and see NPR Music's First Watch premiere of the video here.
See below for the full tour itinerary!
Shera, who moved to Nashville the day after the final recording session for Gold and Rust, wrote the album as a musical farewell to her home state of California. "Making the record and finishing it, knowing that I was about to be leaving, inspired some of the songs," explains Shera. The album was recorded in Santa Cruz by Andy Zenczak, who also produced Shera's previous two releases, In My Bones (2006) and Once I Was a Bird (2010).
