Launch Of New Dualtone Record Label From Ethan Hawke, Charlie Sexton, and Louis Black Image

In the wake of the critical success of BLAZE, directed and co-written by Ethan Hawke, and the acclaim for musician Ben Dickey in his first acting role as Blaze Foley; Ethan Hawke, Charlie Sexton and Louis Black announce the launch of the SexHawkeBlack record label. Dickey, who was awarded a U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Achievement in Acting at the Sundance Film Festival 2018, will be the first musician signed to this new imprint in conjunction with the Nashville based Dualtone label. Music industry veteran Erika Pinktipps will oversee operations.

Dickey releases his three song EP today titled "It's All Different" which is set to coincide with Dickey's appearance on the Today Show and NBC's Jimmy Fallon, with BLAZE director Ethan Hawke. The three song EP was recorded in March 2018 in Austin, TX with Charlie Sexton as producer and recorded at the legendary Arlyn Studios." To have Charlie produce and play on a record for me," Dickey says, "is an overwhelming dream that I never thought I would be living. "

The full-length album, A Glimmer on the Outskirts, set for release in January 2019, explores the notion of hope, "when you don't know if it's ever going to be here again and then you get a glimmer on the horizon." Dickey has been asked to perform next at the Americana Music Festival & Conference September 11 - 16 in Nashville, TN.

BLAZE will have Its NYC premiere on September 5th at the IFC Center and opens nationwide on September 21st.

More about SexHawkeBlack:

The newly formed SexHawkeBlack label name started out as a joke among friends Ethan Hawke, Charlie Sexton and Louis Black as they gathered for the Blaze screening during South by Southwest 2018. It stuck after the trio was involved with Ben Dickey's new recordings and found themselves wanting to promote their friend's style of folk, country, and blues music. Louis Black is a SXSW and Austin Chronicle co-founder and producer of documentary films on Blaze Foley, Townes Van Zandt and Doug Sahm. Charlie Sexton has been making music since he was a teen, currently tours with Bob Dylan and is the Music Director for the Austin Music Awards.
