Resilience is defined as the ability of the human being to adapt positively to adversity. Recently the term is also assigned to the community and cultural process that responds to variables of compensation, protection, and challenge. Resilience is what "Pegame más Fuerte," the newest single from "Suenan las alarmas," the most recent and acclaimed album of Uruguayan band and Latin Grammy Nominees "No te va gustar (Popart Discos) conveys. It is an energetic rock imprinted song, within the conceptual framework of an album that questions the context of international, social, political and personal uncertainty that crosses the world, through a handful of songs that seek to propose a refuge to protect the spirit and the heart. In this original studio version, the song counts with the guest participation of Herbert Vianna (guitarist and vocal lead for Os Paralamas do Sucesso).
The music video was shot live by Rodrigo Labella and Lolo Paradell and is the result of carefully selected moments. It is a parallel montage that offers, on one hand, the return of the live band in a sequence of successful massive shows. On the other side, the video reveals the intimacy of a group that travels, that waits, and coexists; a band that bonds with their audience, that laughs, shares, and enjoys each other. Taking advantage of this power, "Pegame más Fuerte" is a real, warm, and human x-ray of the state of No te va gustar (NTVG). It offers an opportunity to acknowledge their reality and to enjoy their magic all over again.
The band will be touring a good part of Latin America and the United States on board of the Suenan Las Alarmas tour, which includes shows in Argentina throughout March, April, and May, and which will continue their international tour in 2018. "Suenan las alarmas" is a personal and mature record, where NTVG elegantly demonstrates more than 20 years of trajectory.
The material was recorded between July 2016 and March 2017 throughout the studios of Elefante Blanco in Montevideo, Romaphonic in Buenos Aires, White Water Music in New York, and Bass Station in Brooklyn. The artistic production was carried out by Héctor Castillo, the talented Venezuelan producer and four-time Latin Grammy winner for "Ahí Vamos" and "Fuerza Natural" by Gustavo Cerati, as well as being internationally recognized for his work with Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Aterciopelados, and David Bowie, within others. Dave Mc did the audio mastering.
