Lady Gaga's Born This Way has become the fastest-selling album of the year around the world. With 288,000 copies sold its first day (May 23) and 1,108,000 its first week in the U.S., Born This Way (Streamline/Interscope/KonLive) has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, the first Lady Gaga album to debut at the top spot. Born This Way has also sold more than 1,000,000 copies outside the U.S. The album debuted #1 in the U.K., where first-week sales were greater than the rest of the Top 10 combined and the best debut week by a solo American female artist since 2005. The album has also debuted at the top spot in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan.

Earlier this year, the title track became the fastest single in history to reach sales of 1,000,000 copies worldwide by breaking that mark in only five days. "Born This Way" became the first song to debut at #1 on the Hot 100 and remain at the top for more than a month since Elton John's 1997 version of "Candle In The Wind." In the last week, two other singles from Born This Way have also reached the U.S. Top 10: "Judas" and "The Edge Of Glory." In addition, "Judas" has cracked the Top 10 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K. and elsewhere.

A five-time Grammy winner, Lady Gaga has also won prestigious awards in the U.K., Mexico, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Thailand and elsewhere in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

In a recent feature on Born This Way, The New York Times wrote: "The album is as catchy and euphorically overblown as the music that made her a sensation."
