LuckyMe are very proud to present the long-awaited return of Lunice. Since he and Hudson Mohawke put their supergroup TNGHT on ice - Lunice Fermin Pierre II went dark - moving away from social media to only making spot appearances at shows in between studio time. For his forthcoming project, which we'll be able to announce soon, Lunice has been working with local Quebec MCs and a team of creatives to produce a uniquely dramatic, operatic live show and debut album.

The original proposition of record label LuckyMe was to be a home to a genre-defying wave of producers at the intersection of hip hop and club music. It's a sound that has now been efficiently folded into the mainstream - but where many of this generation of producers shied away from performance; Lunice embraced it. He performs like a vocalist to minimal club records - considering his physical performance with every drum pattern he writes. It's this uniquely connected 360 approach to his craft that sees Lunice travel early to venues to meet fans at soundcheck, or fastidious in typesetting his own record cover. For Lunice - everything is connected into one seamless experience.

Mazerati was recorded in Lunice's beautiful customised studio in Montreal's Old Port and mixed by engineer in-residence S-Type. From the opening church bells and muffled vocal chops to the orchestral stabs that crack over the snarling bass - the arrangement builds a steady tension. The quiet genius on this Lunice instrumental is how much energy is contained within its minimalism. No sound has anywhere to hide. So it's time we invite Lunice back online with Mazerati: a sinister anthem for club systems and night driving. A first taste of his dark modern rap record to come.

Lunice's CCCLX live show will debut at Barcelona's Sonar By Night on June 16th.
