L.L.Bean Announces 2018 Summer in the Park Lineup of Concerts

Outdoor retailer L.L.Bean announced its annual Summer in the Park schedule of free outdoor concerts and activities for families to celebrate the summer in Maine. The concert series that brings regional and nationally-known artists to L.L.Bean's Flagship store in Freeport has become a tradition for locals and summer visitors alike for two decades. Activities also include free morning yoga, outdoor movies, and festivals from July 4 to September 1.

Summer in the Park begins on July 4 with R&B soul artist Devon Gilfillian, followed by spectacular fireworks. Concerts continue with country singers Chase Rice and Cassadee Pope July 7, blues rockers Big Head Todd and the Monsters July 14, Americana string band Old Crow Medicine Show July 21, pop-folk artist Passenger July 28, and alternative rock band The Revivalists August 4. The series wraps up on Labor Day weekend with pop-rock stars The Fray on September 1.

Free outdoor yoga will be led every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning at 8:00 AM in L.L.Bean's Discovery Park. Outdoor family movies will be screened every Friday evening at sunset, with food trucks arriving at 6:00 PM.

L.L.Bean will also host festivals and events for several non-profit organizations, including the L.L.Bean 4th of July 10K and Family Fun Run supporting the YMCA of Southern Maine; the Camp Sunshine Watermelon Festival August 11; American Cancer Society's Amazing Place Adventure Race August 12; Teens to Trails' Life Happens Outside Festival August 18; and Dog Days of August, supporting local animal shelters and featuring DockDogs August 25-26.

L.L.Bean began its summer concert series in 1998 and has since hosted 180 free concerts drawing thousands of music fans together to share the joy of summer outside.

"Listening to live music outside, on a blanket with family and friends, as the sun goes down and the stars come out, there's nothing quite like it," said Kelly Warsky, brand experience manager at L.L.Bean. "Now with all of our other events, from morning yoga, to family movie nights, to Dog Days, we have opportunities for everyone in the family to come and enjoy the season outdoors."
