Today, acclaimed keyboardist and composer Kyle Hollingsworth (The String Cheese Incident) announces the release of his fourth solo studio album, 50, on March 2nd, 2018 via SCI Fidelity. In celebration of the album release and Hollingsworth's 50th birthday, Hollingsworth has announced a run of album release shows along the Colorado front range, with shows in Fort Collins, Denver and Boulder on March 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively. All currently announced shows can be found below. On 50, Hollingsworth commemorates his upcoming 50th birthday (March 2nd), reflecting on the various aspects and milestones of his life while shining a spotlight on his continual evolution as an artist. Written and recorded over a period of a year and a half, Hollingsworth collaborated on 50 for the first time in the studio with his current band lineup, stretching the creative process more so than previous solo releases. Hollingsworth states, "We were able to explore and work together as a unit versus the other albums, where I would just bring them the songs and they would perform them as I told them to. I was able to be a lot more creative in the studio with my current lineup of musicians. I would show up with a smattering of ideas and say, 'I think this is what's gonna happen,' and we'd sit down and knock out three or four songs together." Hollingsworth also called on special guest musicians and vocalists to join him on 50. While writing the album, Hollingsworth envisioned specific musicians on certain songs and instrumentations. On "Finding Our Way," Andy Hall (The Infamous String Dusters) played dobro, while on the Motown-inspired "All Falls Apart" Hollingsworth called on The Motet Horns, and Jen Hartswick leant vocals to "Come On." Other special guests on the album include DJ Logic, Jason Hann, Kim Dawson, Darren Kramer, Paige Sandusky and Tanya Shylock. In celebration of 50, Hollingsworth is excited to announce the national release of a new collaboration beer with SweetWater and Relix Magazine: Ground Score IPA, Limited Edition Dank Tank Brew. Hollingsworth is an avid home-brewer, who spends much of his time offstage creating world-class beer, with over 30 beer collaborations under his belt. Hollingsworth began home-brewing beer as a teen and quickly found the parallel between brewing and creating music. "I take chances in my music creation," he says, "and I started seeing the parallels to how I brew beer. Once you get the basics under your fingers, you can start improvising." Hollingsworth's teenage brewing hobby has since grown into a far reaching enterprise - he has hosted multiple beer festivals and charity events, and welcomes fans to try his brews all over the country as he often collaborates with local breweries to create beer along his tours. Hollingsworth's new collaboration beer, Ground Score IPA, will debut on February 7th at the Brooklyn Bowl launch party and hits retail shelves starting February 12th, 2018. Ground Score IPA will also be available at SweetWater's 420 Fest in Atlanta, GA on April 20-22, where The String Cheese Incident will headline. Check out the full behind-the-brew story by Relix here. Kyle Hollingsworth can be seen on tour this Spring in support of 50, with additional dates with The String Cheese Incident planned for Summer 2018.
